UPDATE 11-29-2017: We had found a winner and scheduled a skydive but due to weather and scheduling we are still attempting to get our contest winner in the sky. Jeremy Campbell of Lee’s Summit was our contest winner and his skydive has been paid for by Wwaver. Just waiting for the right time to fly.
A new media art contest for time in the sky…
THE IDEA: It is no coincidence that the artist who painted one of the most famous paintings of all time in the Mona Lisa is also the same person who designed early flying machines and notably the first ever parachute. Leonardo da Vinci was the legend of the Renaissance era who is behind these accomplishments as well as many more mixed between art, music, science and is our inspiration for this first ever Wwaver art contest. We want you to create something. An object, a moving design, an idea in the 3D space. Show us your perspective and we want to show you ours.
Perspective – the art of drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other when viewed from a particular point.
THE CONTEST: This is a 3D digital art submission contest. We are looking for a best in show practical or freestyle art submissions in the 3D visual variety. 3D objects that can be physically printed with a 3D printer (STL, OBJ, 3DS) and motion graphic videos under 1 minute (MP4, MOV, AVI) are what we are looking for. Whether your 3D print or motion graphic is practical or purely artistic in nature all styles are welcome and will be selected on overall quality, creativity and uniqueness. ALSO: Don’t get hung up on the technology. If you can draw an object or sculpt it with your hands. Take a picture and maybe we can digitize its 3D form for you. Submissions will be accepted through the month of September with a Final Deadline of October 1st 2017. Submissions will be selected by Wwaver team members then featured to be voted on by a panel of artists at an art gallery night in Kansas City. There is no cost of entry and no limitations currently to the design process, we do ask that your submissions be of original composition and not infringing on another artists work. You may have up to 3 submissions per person.
WINNING PRIZE:
The reward for sharing your perspective with us and the world will be Wwaver sharing our perspective of the world with you from 14,000 feet above the ground. The winner will receive a Tandem Skydive with Video at Skydive Kansas City on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 covered fully by Wwaver. Winner will be invited to participate in exclusive after party as well become the first ever Wwaver Extreme Team street member. All Winners going forward will be part of an exclusive VIP list with access to Wwaver gallery events, parties and other future entertainment projects.
*** Skydiving is an amazing experience for anyone over 18+ but there are a few requirements to be able to participate. Good physical health and some weight restrictions apply. Travel from Kansas City to drop zone can be provided if needed.

For files larger than 10MB please request a secure Google Drive link for submission. We have a TB standing by. All submissions are solely for the purpose of the contest. No submissions will be used for commercial gain without specific consent of the artist. No information about artists will be shared with anyone or any companies other than Wwaver. There will be only ONE contest winner who receives a Skydive, however we are working out the details of a few runner up prizes.
